Tour Description
Cayo Adventure Tours offers an enthralling canoe trip on the Macal River providing paddlers with a chance to see fascinating bird life, lazy iguanas, and sometimes even a few Howler monkeys perched on tree tops lining the river bank. The Macal River originates in the Maya Mountains of Belize and flows northeast to the town of San Ignacio and then northwest to Belize City. Our guided canoe trip begins approximately 7 miles upstream from San Ignacio for an approximate 3 hour paddle to town. You will enjoy the quiet beauty of nature as you drift downstream in this pristine habitat with only the soothing sounds of the river and the birds breaking the calm silence.
This tour is a perfect combination with a half day tour of Xunantunich or Cahal Pech ruins, or perhaps following a half day horseback ride. You can also opt for a delicious Belizean lunch at one of the restaurants in San Ignacio before continuing on another tour or returning to your hotel.
Cost: US$75.00 per person
