Belize Tourism Board (BTB)

The Belize Tourism Board (BTB) is a statutory body within the Ministry of Tourism, which represents a strategic partnership between government and the private sector.

The BTB is a strategic partner in marketing the Belize Tourism Product, developing tourism initiatives and programs, and implementing tourism policies, to address the changing needs of visitors and stakeholders. Click to learn more about BTB

Belize Tourism Industry Association (BTIA)

The Belize Tourism Industry Association is Belize’s leading national private sector tourism association and prides itself on being the national driving force in tourism. BTIA represents a unified voice, and advocates for issues that benefit its members. BTIA also influences tourism policy, legislation and marketing for the sustainable development of the industry and improved quality of the visitor experience.

BTIA currently has over 600 members drawn from Belize’s six districts and ten established tourism destinations. Its membership is drawn from the tourism private sector and includes hotels, guest houses, travel agencies, tour operators, tour guides, restaurants, gift shops, taxi associations, artisans, dive boat operators, dive shops and other corporate business such as banks, media and others. Belize National Tour Operators Association (BNTOA)

The BNTOA is an association of tour operators that lobbies with the Belize Government & the private sector on behalf of its members for the implementation of policies that will improve the Belize tourism industry.

BNTOA plays a significant role in the issues affecting the Belize Tourism Industry and actively participates in the overall decision making process. The BNTOA board is currently in the process of registering the BNTOA as a NGO so that it may partner and align itself with organizations that share similar objectives and goals. Belize Hotel Association (BHA)

The Belize Hotel Association (BHA) is a non-profit, non-government organization whose regular membership is comprised primarily of hoteliers with a category of allied members who actively service the hospitality industry. BHA is an active participant in major decision-making bodies affecting the growth development and maintenance of the tourism industry. This includes holding a seat on the Board of Directors of the Belize Tourism & Industry Association, the country’s largest tourism private sector organization and the Belize National Tourism Council, the joint public/private sector agency which coordinates tourism development in Belize. Association of Protected Areas Management Organization (APAMO)

The Association of Protected Areas Management Organizations (APAMO) is an organization whose membership is a network of non-governmental and community based organizations that co-manage Belize’s protected areas. APAMO is Belize’s leading network of environmental non-governmental organizations, particularly in the areas of protected areas management. Its 14 member agencies are responsible for or involved in the management of twenty-one (21) terrestrial protected areas and nine (9) marine protected areas. Click to learn more about APAMO

Belize Audubon Society (BAS)

The Belize Audubon Society (BAS) has been Belize’s foremost environmental organization protecting Belize’s precious natural resources while educating the public about their value and sustainable use. BAS has grown from an all-volunteer organization with 55 charter members to a Society of over 1,400 members and a staff of more than 40 dedicated professionals. Click to learn more about BAS

Friends for Conservation and Development (FCD)

Friends for Conservation and Development (FCD) is a membership non-profit, non-governmental organization whose primary goal is to motivate the public to protect the environment through conservation awareness while enhancing the development of the human resource.

FCD is a respected organization whose role in the national conservation agenda is fully recognized by both the Government and the general public. It continues to build its networking capabilities both locally and internationally, while capitalizing on its strengths as a reputable community-based conservation organization.
